Veg becomes Non-Veg forcibly!!!

Been here a few times but the recent experience really put me off this restaurant. Found a worm in my soup and was really upset with the kind of food quality that is being served here. It even called into question all the earlier meals I had here. After hearing a pathetic 'sorry' from the server, I was left with my supposed worm infested meal which was really disappointing. Really taken aback with this and doubt I will ever visit this joint again.

Best Thai Food in Bangalore

The best Thai food I have ever had outside Thailand!!
Very authentic dishes, good ambience and great service. All the dishes are amazing - good quality, well presented and great taste. The best thing about Thai dishes are the aromas which are well preserved in all the dishes you order.
Best Tom Yum Goong I have ever had.

Quite expensive though, and you cannot visit too often unless you have a big pocket. Booze is also very highly priced and makes you think when you are paying the bill.

Royal Thai festival - what a royal letdown!

A friend and I landed up at Benjarong yest for lunch- ravenous, easy to please and with great memories of their usual lunch box meals...

What we found instead was a new 'festival' menu and lots of information abt the festival.....Sure, we decided to plunge in and order from this menu as the old set boxes had been discontinued for the festival duration..

Ordered 4 items , 3 of which were atrociously bad..in fact, we returned the fish starter ... White pomfret after just 1 bite...the overly crispy dish hid just 1 thing- plain , gone- bad fish..no one came to ask us why we had returned the dish, what the matter was etc etc..

Our main dishes - the crabmeat Thai fried rice and the tenderloin with steamed rice ,that my friend ordered again had something in common- old food , reheated and passed off...end result: flat, tasteless food..

Shame that Benjarong chooses to mess with its reputation with such shoddy offerings...STALE REHEATED food is a death knell for any restaurant, even One of Benjarongs reputation.

Needs Consistency...

We have visited this place with the family...purely basing on my own earlier delightful experience at this joint and also at Chennai's restaurant.
Ambiance: spartan, clean, neat, understated elegance. Perhaps soft Thai music could have been played
Service: crisp, professional, but sometimes its a drag to elicit the responses; staff can be trained to be attentive yet unobtrusive. They can wear their name badges for easy identification
Food: Well this is the biggest disappointment( when compared with Chennai's joint). Ex: the Raw Papaya Salad should have been crisp, fresh, imbued with bursts of delicate flavors. But it is soggy all the way...; similarly the tenderness in the lemongrass shoots are completely missing; its more fibrous, thick, unpalatable...
Valet Parking: just right and professional
Billing: accurate
Cleanliness: could be attended proactively by the staff to clearup the tables; patrons could have been provided with tissues alongwith the napkin; for the table is oozing with water from mocktail glass;
Serving: Moctails if chilled, then the glass must be wiped properly and also need to be wrapped with good quality tissue to make it comfortable.
Flexibility: great in tweaking some of the dishes...
What could be done better:

great thai food

The decor of the place is more like a house converted to a restaurant, and its pretty basic. The service is fine, and the food is the highlight here.
Both veg and non-veg dishes were very nice and different.
We tried the pandan chicken, veg spring rolls and fish starter, and all were good.
The rice and noodles were nicely flavoured, and not bland at all. Overall a good experience for the foodie.
