One of the good ones...

This is one of the very few good ones among 1000s of Chinese restaurants in Delhi. Located in a plush market. The ambiance is Good. The Food is Great & the Service is excellent. It is one of the few places where i can confidently take my foreign guests, to impress them. A regular customer for life :)

Thumbs up!

This restaurant is located in Gk2 M Block Market ( second half ) this market is fast becoming known for quality cafes and eating joints. China garden is one of the older, bigger and better known restaurants of the neighbor hood. As you walk into their lobby (the entire groung floor! Sizes of most restaurants) you well know that your entering a classy, high end place. Straight ahead lies a five feet, hand painted Chinese plate, on your left you are mesmerized with a floor to ceiling waterfall, Next to it an all glass staircase leading to the dining floors which at that point can only hope would be my stairs to culinary ecstasy....

As I entered I was warmly greeted.. they register personal information as you enter "we like to know our guests" I was told. I happily comply. I am then escorted to the third floor by the elevator which opens to a floor that I can only best describe as open, airy, and classy! The decor is modern done in the most understated yet classy way.. as I walk to the table I am further greeted by a gentlemen who later took my order and served me. When presented with the menu the first thing you see is a page with never ending photos of this restaurants achievements.. best restaurant awards numerous times, most hygienic restaurant, etc etc.
The menu is an extensive one and therefore your are best advised to go with their recommendations... I did! And here is my take on the whole thing..

1) The Gin Chicken: crispy round balls of chicken marinated with gin, house spices and coriender recomended to be eaten with the lemon coriender table sauce.

A juicy Beautifully balanced dish, a great innovation.

2) Moo Goo Thong: a thick mushroom soup.

Very nice to the point ..If you like mushrooms you wil like this

3) Lou Spare Ribs : pork spare ribs marinated with chinese wine and chinese five spice twice cooked.

This was amazing! The meat just fell off the ribs it was delicious.

4) Fish Black Olives: sole fish fillet stir fried with chinese black olives and schezwan salt and pepper.

You basically get three small fillets, it is de de boned and Divine.. It keeps you wanting more.

Main course

5) Butter Chilly Garlic Prawns: small rock prawns stir fried with butter chilly and garlic

Tastes exactly as it sounds yummy buttery could have used a little more chilly..but all in all a good dish.

6) Korean Fried Rice: fried rice with Korean kimchi vegetables.

This rice was spicy..a little too much for me.

7) Soya Wine Fish : opted for again sole fish fillet stir fry this time with soya wine and green chillies

Again a divine dish. Cooked perfectly! Their seafood is amazing as you don't get a single hint/ smell of seafood

8) Water chestnuts, Black Mushrooms, Snow Peas Dry Yellow Bean Stir Fry: yellow bean is like black bean but a little different its saltier more pungent.

Fabulos dish..was well prepared and cooked perfectly! The snow peas was crunchy the mushrooms juicy and the waterchesnuts succlunt..all three combined togeter is a ingeneous dish.

9) Lastly, the Chicken Dry Chinese Ginger Curry: basically this is a spicy dish best eaten with plain steamed rice..it is chciken cooked for hours in curry and ginger paste filtered right before serving it.

This was a full flavoured dish and most recommended for delhiites . ..the subtle hints of ginger made this a dish unlike anything I have eaten.

Conclusion :

The food at china garden is a culinary journey! The menu is huge and is designed for everybody! You must be a true foodie with an open mind in order to enjoy the experience. The chefs at the restaurant truely are innovaters, chinese cooking methods applied to innovative recipies ...chances are you will be served dishes you have never heard of or read about.. the experience truly is unique! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for quality, unique food, and services. Thumbs up!

Very Obvious Choice of Chinese Restaurant in GK 2

China Garden is a very obvious choice to eat out for chinese and specially when you're in GK 2 M block Market where years old heritage is present- talking about Chungwa here...
New bees like Hao Shi Nian are also there...
but Choosing CG is always good...

Every time I eat at this Restaurant the food is just really awesome... Had many memorable evenings here... The salt and pepper prawns are outstanding and so were the string beans with diced chicken but what especially stood out for me was the young Chu fried rice..it was simply delicious...
pecking duck is my favorite...

Service is really quick... you'll like the on the toes waiters serving u hot food...

you can expect to get value for money and your time here :)

Chinese from the house of authentic chinese...

Its quite possible that people know many good Chinese restaurants in Delhi or NCR...

But i had quite a good experience at China Garden...

They don't manipulate chinese food to serve it to INdians.. but they serve authentic flavors of Chinese cuisine...

Unlike Many restaurants the emphasis was on authentic flavors..

Thy hav good & charming ambiance as well...

Sure a thing of coming back & refering it to frnds again & again... :)

Jus China Garden !

I was in Hauzkhas Market when my frnd wanted me to join her for lunch at China Garden in GK 2... already i had seen its Ad somewhere so thought of accepting her offer n joined her for lunch here... She had a prior booking done at CG...

Well il just talk about food... It was amazing... Felt like being in China only eating at some nice luxurious place in Beijing...

The flavors were authentic with no modification to Indian Tongue...

You must try "Lemon Grass Thong- Soup",
"Crab Meat- Schezuan"
"Crispy Honey Chilli Garlic- Chicken"
For Mains we chose:
Kung Pao Chicken, Soya & Wine Chilli Chicken, Aromatic Steak, Hakka Noodles- Meat is great.

Well food tasted really good & it was a great lunch.
I'd Recommend China Garden to be visited ny fellow burrpers as well...

Original Chinese

Staff offers good service, food is most authentic, best dish is the spare rib with black bean. As a Chinese American who has been to Ano Tai, Daitchi, Golden Dragon, and Yo China - I can honestly say this is the best place in Delhi to take a Chinese person for Chinese food. Even the head of the Taiwanese Economic and Cultural Center will take lunch here, so why go anywhere else?

Pro: Food is amazing, staff is great when you arrive.

Con: They really make you wait a long time for your complimentary fruit or to pack something to go (Dinner Time).

Awesome food and fabulous offer

We celebrated our anniversary at China Garden over the weekend. The had an Unlimited Lunch offer priced at Rs 799 plus taxes. This is how it works - 5 dishes + soup+ dessert + non-alcoholic drink. You get to choose any five dishes from their menu. Rice/noodles is part of the five.

I had the Lemon & Coriander Thong which was a clear soup full of flavour, My husband had the Loo Sun Thong (Asparagus Soup) which was a thick soup and contained quite a lot of asparagus.

We picked two starters, two mains, and a garlic fried rice. The starters were phenomenally good. We had the Tiger Prawns with hot garlic sauce and the Loo Spare Ribs. I wish they had trimmed the fat on the ribs. I could taste the five spice mix on the ribs and the prawns were humungous. We were impressed!

For the main course, we ordered Crispy Chicken in Orange Sauce. Having had it earlier in Singapore, we were eager to have this despite being warned by the server that this was very very sweet. We were undeterred though. Unfortunately, he was right. It was way too sweet. I think they should have balanced it out with some chilli and garlic.

The other dish we had was Minced Lamb with black olives. This was packed with flavour and went well with the garlic fried rice.

We ended our meal with a Chocolate Mousse and Caramel Custard. We will be definitely returning to China Garden to sample other things on their menu,

Good food. Nice seating.

Although I've been here a while ago from what I hear the place has not changed much so here's my review.

I was quite fascinated that such a huge spacious restaurant was bang in the middle of GK. Nice. On entering we were escorted to a floor upstairs and given a table that was accommodating of our big group. the people seemed hospitable and keen on making our experience worthwhile.

Coming to the food, delicious pork dish we had. The lamb too was succulent and not rigid one bit, unlike a lot of other places. And the soups were pretty good too. I can't remember names, but I'll be sure to comment on this review and let everyone know as I plan to go refresh my memory soon. It's location is decent too. They even served us chinese tea, which wasn't too bad. Helps make even more space in the stomach I say.

Economically this place hits the pocket but at the same time I think for some good classy chinese I'd pay that money here rather than anywhere else.

All in all, a good experience. One that I'm able to recall even after the passage of time.

I give it a 3 on 5, as although the food impressed me tremendously, I felt that they could done something better. there's obviously a reason I haven't gone back there since but I can't exactly point out what since it's hard to say after being so satisfied with ones experience.

Best Chinese ever!!

Fantastic Chinese...with every dish tasting distinctly unique and characteristic (something quite difficult to find). Had the lemongrass coriander soup (packed with flavor though d mushrooms were quite chewy n tasteless), Char Sui stir fried chicken (awesome yummy fabulous), Soya Chili wine fish, gourmet prawns (mmmmm...), chicken steamed wantons (don't quite live up to my expectations),Lat "Cheao nu Neuk (beef chilly d China Garden ishtyle..love d fried garlic garnish), Teppan Soba noodles (wow!!), burnt ginger fried rice (cud do with sum more ginger) & SaPo chicken (differently spiced yet again). The complimentary Kimchi salad and table sauces were lip smacking good. Desserts cud do with sum more options...i mean a place like this cud do better than lychee's,ice creams and caramel custards...
Meal for 5 without alcohol and wid taxes came to around 4400 which is ok if u consider the quality of d meal. Service was gud wid the waiters giving good suggestions

Don't waste your time at China Garden

This used to be a good place and I was a regular. But today I waited one and a half hours for my Dimsum Lunch and finally left without being served. Don't waste your time here. Terrible service and totally inattentive service. Will never visit again and suggest you look elsewhere for a good dimsum meal. If you are looking for a an excellent dimsum spread go to Nanking in Vasant Kunj. More imaginative menu and selection, perfect service, lots of parking space. They will not disappoint.

Undoubtly the best Chinese in delhi!!!

Frankly speaking, very few restaurants in Delhi actually know what Chinese food is all about! And these guys know Chinese in n out!
Never had a better hot n sour soup (half restaurants in Delhi add Panner in h n s soup... yuck!!!), cream corn's r to die for, chicken Kung Pau or whatever they call it is out of this world...
All in all a superb dinning experience.

Though priced almost as 5 * 's but still a must go for people who r really fond of good delicious Chinese.

Excellent food!

Saturday dinner with the Mrs- Mrs happy, Me happy!

A very grand entrance invites you to this lovely restaurant. We were seated in no time and given the menus. When asked for recommendations (as it was out first time here), the waiter had great product knowledge and was quite helpful.
We ordered chicken Dim Sums to start off. They were very good. For mains, we had Shanghai chicken, Soya and wine chilly lamb, and Haka noodles. Everything was great; fresh and full of flavour. Specially loved the lamb- perfectly cooked tender.
Considering the ambiance, service, quality and quantity of food, this restaurant offers good value for money.
Definitely going back for more!

Visual treat

A visually beautiful ‘fine dine’ restaurant. My evening was beautifully pleasant with a nice chill breeze in the air, just perfect for dinner. Chicken dumplings: they were quiet good and pretty much basic at taste with decent stuffing. The red thai curry and rice had a different twist with very less coconut flavor and more of a lemony base. Slices of sweetish pork sausage was very nice. Amazing taste which was soothing to your pallete without too spicy.
