The food costs a whole lot and frankly tastes terrible. The whole cricket theme gets old really fast considering the place has nothing else to offer. The drinks selection isn't great either and is way overpriced.
C&B as we call it is more renowned as a pubbing hot spot and not for the spacious attached restaurant. My friends are a more regular kind but whenever I have tagged along with them in there, its been awesome. The Dj and disco lights with a small dance floor sorts rocks. Weekends are jam packed with crowd that is decent enough to let one be. This is not like the posh pubs of Park Street hence the glamour and show off quotient is low and so if you love to relax with dim light loud music and drinks, this is the right place. I like the BAR, the friendly service and the food starters are delicious enough to make a meal out of them. There are few competitors at the same location but then i guess the highest magnitude of loyalty works only in case of pubs, you like it once you like it always.
good food...nice ambience..i had gone there during the soccer world cup...it was well decorated with the theme of football..we had a table for two and had drinks along with a starter dish from chicken.then we ordered masala khulcha and again a chicken dish along with cold drinks..the prices are a bit on the higher side but the food is good...so u wont mind paying a bit from the pocket...Service is good
I went to Caught & Bowled during Durga Puja 2010 with 9 members of my family and had the "special Bengali buffet". We paid Rs 450 plus taxes per person. The food quality was worse than the street side "jhugs" of Kolkata (Which costs not more than 30 Rs per person). The radhaballavi served in the buffet smelt of cockroaches...The taste of food was awful and the service too was very bad.
Ambience is good. However, Visit this place if you want to experience the pathetic service by the staff. They shall serve the drinks - totally flat. When asked for something special to serve , they show the menu card and say that everything is special to choose with !!!!!
All recipes are home grown having hardly any connection with the name of the dish on the menu. Gimmicky set up. Fair bargain for local residents but not worth the trouble of going across the city for discerning palates.
