A Decent Place

My experience at PastaMania was pretty ok. We asked for Garlic Bread (Toasted) but got a plain bread without any garlic. We had to make the staff understand as to how we want it. Tht was quite a task!!
Lasagne was excellent.. By far the best in town i had with a good portion...

Its a chain which is going to be quite agressive in Gujarat. For the Jain people they are planning to open up one PastaMania which would be pure Jain..
I think thts quite a risk and could turn out to be a good one...

A fissazione (obsession) for Pasta

This `Ristorante' is part of a recently started chain of restaurants around the world. The Ahmedabad outlet on C.G.Road is unique, because it is reported to be the World's First Completely vegetarian PastaMania outlet. This is what made it interesting when eight of us had a joyous saturday lunch.

Most items are cooked to order and food is served piping hot and fresh-tasting. The portions are little less than one expected. You can give a quick bye bye to the soups as they are the only un-interesting items on the menu. But there is an air of authenticity when one orders the pastas. The shape matters whether it is Farfalle (Bow Shaped), Fusilli (three edged spirals), Spirali (tubed spirals), macaroni (tubes), penne (tubes with diagonal cuts) or spagetti (twined rod pasta). The sauces matter too, these are garlic and mint, the arrabiata (supposed to be more spicy), the creamy ones, or the aglio olio sauce. Try the Lasagne it is quite wholesome. The pizzas are overwhelmingly different from those dished out by the American chains. Do try this happening place, but be ready to shell out more money than you thought.
