Took lunch buffet few days back and I was excited enough. I had a very good experience at the Kolkata outlet of this restaurant but this time had a little setback on the food. Staff is polite and presentable. I loved the steamed momos that we ordered as starters, they were just superb. Main course food was more or less the same as of any other Indo- Chinese restaurant. Thai curry was not good enough to hit my taste buds. Tofu was also not good for me. I liked Lotus rice. I know it might be one of their setback days, but I wish they come up with something new and attractive.
this is one of the best places to have chinese in Mumbai, and my whole family loves it. Buffet is amazing value for money. Food-no matter what you order, is authentic, is free of unnecessary oily, and amazingly delicious and you can always get it personalized according to your tastes! Service is amazingly 5 star level so no issues there. Just go with family and enjoy. A little bit expensive but makes up for it in quality,so will not feel bad paying for it. portions are very good.
The food was just perfect..quick service and real chinese taste...amazingly large quantities per dish..had a great time with family and would surely recomend the buffet as well.
We tried this once a few weeks ago and it became an instant hit for both of us. My wife loves the authentic taste and style of Chinese food here and the service us excellent as well.
Price tag is a little on the higher side. Wish they can run some promotions to attract more customers. weekdays or weekends its always sparsely occupied and so they need ti think if they are ok with thr limited patrons or want to increase foot fall. We have been here 5-6 times in last 3 weeks.
With the now monotonous offering of pizza and western cuisine outlets around Hiranandani, this seems to be a good option to the taste buds.
Note: You can always order your food without MSG if that's important for you. This is a additional plus point for couples who are expecting or new moms.
All in all a good place for a nice dinner but kind of hits the pocket.
This is one of my favourite restaurant, I love the food and a frequent person there, The tsing hoi chicken gravy and burnt garliv fried rice is to die for, The hot chocolate rollls are yumm and truly amazing, the staff is friendly and sweet. Mainland China has always been the faviourite for my entire family.. I love this place.
A visit to Mainland China after long....had built too many expectations around it. The place lives up to its name. It offers quite a variety across courses.
The outlet at Powai is a long rectangle...with tasteful decor. The red and black shades would rather entice you to feel the 'China'man. The staff is very courteous and will will help you select the best preparation suited to your taste. We did go for short meal...only appetizers and rice with gravy. The food was light (not heavy on oil) and had a pleasing taste to it. The chef modified the base gravy on request and that was a delightful experience.
Mainland China Powai did satisfy us for a dinner...but it fell short on a creating a memorable dinner. Something that you may expect from a fine dining place. I will still give the benefit of doubt and visit them once more.
This is a regular, predictably good place, with some nice starters - the basil dumplings are worth a revisit. Noodles are of a higher standard here compared to most Chinese joints elsewhere, making a great combo with the Mahlak sauce. Service is quite good, however, to be fair to the restaurant, weekdays are the best times to visit since all stewards are forced to hustle on crowded weekends. It's always been a smooth experience here, though I keep wondering if and when Mainland China will introduce new items to gratify us all further. Price, well, it does pinch middle class patrons, but then a day or two in a month is no harm at all. After all, we live to eat, don't we? :)
Food at all Mainland China outlets meets the basic standard norms and will always be good but never excels - its like a factory churning out food based on pre-set standards. Pan fried noodles in soya sauce , chicken steamed wantons and chicken black bean sauce stand out. The service too is impeccable.
I agree with fellow reviewers, if you want to have chinese, this is the place. The ambiance is great, decor and staff all make you feel as if you have suddenly landed in China. Their starters, main course , desserts, tea everything is worth mentioning, and there is nothing that I have tried and not liked, yet. Try their steamed dim-sums, chicken, soups, they are all really nice. And they give chopsticks too, for a true chinese cuisine fan. :)
Mainland China has an impressive ambience. Their cuisine has a very subtle taste and flavour. However, those who are looking for Chinese food modified as per traditional Indian tastes, this may not be the right place. They have limited options but all are pretty nice. We specially liked the crackling spinach, roast duck and General Tao's chicken. Also, love to have their Jasmine tea.
I had heard a lot about this place and was absolutely delighted that it lived up to my expectations.Starters - had a very good selection and the waiter was quite friendly and nice suggesting what we should try Main course - Superb dishes Dessert - mouth watering chocolate brownie Service - the best. A little heavy on the pocket maybe..... but worth it. You get good food good service.Really happy about this place
The place tops in terms of ambiance, choice of food and service. It has a formal appeal to it, but makes for a great place to go on a date during dinner service (lunch session is packed with people in business suits). Choice for vegetarians is quite limited, but nevertheless good. Hopefully they will add more vegetarian options. Verdict: One of the best places for authentic Chinese food.
