A real treat!

Delicious and an excellent atmosphere. As soon as we walked in we felt like we were in someone's home (with delicious food). It's a very relaxed, informal and friendly environment with long tables for communal meals and Californian inspired dishes. The menu is varied and extensive, wines were lovely and staff were great. Go for a long and leisurely meal with a big group. In all well crafted food and beverages and impeccable service. I recommend it!

Real food lovers dream

Amazing ambience. They have a long community table on the ground floor and their menu changes daily. All the variants -truffle mushroom soup to soft shell tacos –everything was delicious. Kale salad is a very brilliantly cooked dish. Mushroom ravioli, spaghetti pesto and asparagus Rissot well all nicely cooked with balanced sausages. The service was also very prompt and courteous. A bit on the expensive side but worth every bit.

Perfect Fine Dining!

One of Mumbais best restaurants. The Table ws launched by a pair of Indian restaurateurs and a young American chef from San Francisco. The loft upper floor is perfect for romantic dinners, while below a large communal table extends frm the bar for a more lively n social setting. The small plates tend to be the best, with particularly high marks for the zucchini "spaghetti" in a light buttery sauce with almonds, the tuna tataki, the spicy lamb burgers, and the meatballs, smothered in sauce and topped with cheese and fried onions. The large plates dont disappoint either.

really nice

One of the most expensive places, also one of the classiest where one must go for having a different experience. Been here with roommate as it was her birthday and we both decided to try it out. Decided to share the zucchini spaghetti –portion was really tiny which pinches when one looks at the price for the same-but it tastes like nothing else. Simply magical. Also tried the Grilled Tenderloin which was great but nothing beats the spaghetti. A high class place with very attentive, international level service staff.

Very expensive,though very good!

One of the most famous places, no doubt it is super 5 star ambiance, with excellent service to match! Feel like sitting in a posh place, please visit here then! My daughter had mac n cheese and said it was the best she had! I liked the spaghetti I ordered and my hubby loved the Quesedillas he ordered,so quality and presentation wise definitely top notch,no doubt about that, but expensive like anything too! Save it for special occasions.

Eloquent and classy

Initially discouraged by the tapas-style menu (I prefer to commit to single, large meals) I gingerly ordered the grilled calamari with chilli-almond pesto, fregola, confit tomato and black olive. My experience with dining in India is that calamari is rarely served grilled, so if you see it, hold on for dear life.

When it arrived, I judged the dish by its cover - small, chopped up bits of calamari hardly discernable to the eye. I was instantly irritated by the 'dumbing down' of the dish; do these people think calamari can't be broken down by teeth? Where's the fun if it's already been mashed up for us?

Grumbling, I took a bite. My tastebuds all of a sudden started singing hymns of praise - the delicateness of the squid coupled with the bite of the pesto and sweetness of the tomato resulted in what can only be described as a taste-gasm. Give me more!

The yellowfin tuna tataki with avocado, tomato gelée and sesame vinagrette was amazingly fresh (something you learn not to take for granted with Japanese in Mumbai) not to mention light with a perfect balance of flavours.

Avocado and raw fish are two companions which should never be separated and The Table seems to understand that. It would have been nice however, to have been offered wooden chopsticks to preserve the taste and authenticity of the dish.

When I was advised to try the lamb mini-burgers, I scoffed. How good can sliders be? And why would a fine dining establishment bother serving them? Again I was mistaken. These little guys were treated just like steak, cooked to instructed perfection at medium and not a second overdone. The balance of tzaziki perfectly ironed out the spice of the lamb, leaving a clean after-taste.

Expecting a spectacular finale, I was underwhelmed by the 'large plate' of roasted rawas with spinach. After the perfect composition of the previous three dishes, it seemed large and clumsy; definitely not a dish which could warrant more than a few bites.

The Dom Perignon on hand was not chilled to perfection as one would expect, which was a sore disappointment.

While the downstairs decor of the restaurant was acceptable, the ambience of the upstairs floor failed to make an impact with its lack of charm and uniqueness.

The Table

One of the best restaurants in South Bombay is The Table. Loved the food, the service and the ambience. We thought it would be crazy expensive but the food is so so worth it specially the Zucchini Spaghetti, Steamed Buns, etc. My first time at trying this kind of cuisine and I loved it. I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

All good

Best customer service, best atmosphere, best food and best steak EVER. It is rare to get a tender steak but well done, and yet they managed with flying colours. Also had a prawn dish and their lovely beetroot risotto and also had the wonderful Table Salad, which was so good I had it as a side to the steak too. I wish I could eat there tonight, tomorrow and so on. Lovely courteous and friendly service (and fast) and manager took time to explain my many questions about how they cooked this and that. Oh also, the chocolate budinho was finger licking and their sangria (with white wine) was very nice indeed. Thoroughly recommend this. You will be happy, and spend very little too (by western standards I guess?)

Fabulous Fine Dining Place

I have been to Table in past 2 years a few times... and this review was long overdue, I love that they have many options for Vegetarians, my personal favorite is Beet Risotto and Mac n Cheese... even the desserts and salads are to die for. I love their Sangrias too, but they have great variety of wines served as well. Only thing I really wish to try out yet at The Table is the Brussels Sprouts dish which they only serve for Sunday Brunch. So enjoy guys and if you already haven't been at The Table - Book your table today and go soon.

Avoidable

Had heard great things about the place so decided to go there. The place was almost empty on a Sunday afternoon so that should have been warning enough. Our server needed a deodorant very badly so it was like having lunch next to Mahim creek! The chicken and tortilla soup suggested by the server was actually quite nice. However the duck I ordered was quite awful. It was deep fried in oil that did not seem quite right. There was no taste to it. If it was not for the liver pate, I would not have been able to eat it at all and am sure one more such serving of duck will block a couple of my arteries. The fish ordered by my friends was quite average. One was tasteless and flavorless while the other was quite ok. The restaurant was almost empty but there was hardly anyone to take care of us. Water glasses were hardly ever refilled and no one seemed to be around whenever we needed something. They didnt even have a suggestions / feedback card which is why I am being forced to write all this here. I dont think I will ever be going back there.

Awsum place!!Must try...

I am forced to write this review, because it had to be written after such a fabulous experience. Went to The Table for lunch over the weekend & was bowled over. Simply the best service and food in any restaurant I have been to. The staff was super courteous and the meat items very good. Our whole group was eating for hours and came back with loosened buttons. Felt guilty , as must have put on a lot of weight today, but still worth it. Keep it up guys !

Foodies paradise

I do not believe this place even needs to be recommended via a review. Nonetheless, here I go. The Table is a global cuisine delight. I have been trying out Modern American at a number of places in Mumbai, however, none of them have lived up to the quality of The Table. The Table is probably the only place I've been to throughout the length and breadth of Mumbai where I've come out satisfied feeling that the meal was awesome. The stuff on their menu such as Zucchini Spaghetti, Steamed Pork Buns, Roasted Beet salad is wonderfully delectable. I loved their version of Mac n Cheese. I know that I will be frequenting this place a lot more now that I'm hooked to their wonderful spread and you'll should too.

A great dessert rights all the wrongs

Have heard a lot about The Table since it opened a couple of years ago. Went their for dinner for the first time. The ambiance is nice with dim lights, jazz music playing in the background and tables next to windows so you get a nice view too. I had gone to try out the set menu that they have presented for an event. It was a 3 course meal for Rs 1200+taxes per person. For the first course we were served an asparagus and truffle soup - light on the palate, creamy but the husband didn't like it at all. The served a basket of freshly baked breads which were really soft and tasty. For the main-course we picked a chicken canelloni and herbed gnocchi from the four options given to us. Both the dishes were pretty average, nothing extra ordinary about them. The sauce on the canelloni was good. The dessert was an orange cream panacotta - the perfect consistency of panacotta with orange juice drizzled over it was enough to make the average meal good. I suggest you try out their more famous boneless chicken wings if you plan to go their. It's a good place but I think that this menu wasn't their best.

Good food, better desserts

I would give this place a 3/5 for food and 4/5 for the desserts- We ordered: Red snapper- good though could do with a little more flavor Grouper Crab Tagliereni
Roast Chicken- vegetables that came along with it were too few - especially the tiny sized potatoes- this dish would do best with a better assortment of vegetables Side dish of asparagus- was boiled- grilled would be better Gnocchi a la parisienne Desserts: Pain Perdu- was fabulous ! But one more scoop of french vanilla would have been better Cookie assortment- was also good though slightly more moist would be better Will i visit again? Maybe, not opposed to it but Will i crave to return? NO

Fine dining at its Best!!!

After years of hopping around international restaurants in 5 tar hotels of south Bombay, finally there is one such, in an independent venue. Perfectly located in the shopping district of Bombay and near a major cinema, The Table offers fresh and beautifully presented food, with seasonal ingredients. The staff are appropriately attentive and always ready to accommodate to any special dietary needs. The community table along side the bar is a great spot to share a drink with a group of friends. A great dining experience for those who are new in town as well as to old-time Bombayites. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!
