118, Himalaya Mall, Drive-In Road, Ahmedabad

Awful

Sad experience..

While I was shopping at the Himalaya Mall, My eyes fell on this Papa John's Restaurant.. I instantly felt the urge to have a delicious Pizza..

So I along with my friend went to Papa John's, relieved ourselves from the burden of shopping bags and sat on one of those small but cute tables.. The restaurant was emptier than what I expected it to be..

Soon the captain came to us with the menu.
While we were checking out the menu we found very less vegetarian options, and NO JAIN OPTIONS..
Soon disappointment replaced the excitement of trying food at a new place, The captain looked at us as if we were aliens.

When we asked them what they had to offer to their Jain Patrons, they timidly said nothing, we just focus on the guests who like to have NON-VEG Food.

So once again we picked up our bags and left from there..
We enjoyed delicious stuff at the Food Court in Himalaya Mall.

Now I know why Papa John's was empty.
This wont work in Ahmedabad brother, where a majority population is strictly vegetarian or Jain. More than 50,000 Amdavadi residents are Jain.. What makes up your target audience?

Average

Spicyyy...

I have tried food at Curry Leaf a couple of times. Overall I would rate it as good. The ambiance and service is also good.

The staff is polite and courteous. They offer a jain option of almost everything on their menu, which is obviously a good thing.

We had ordered Paneer Tikka and Veg Makanwala, Both the veggies were good.
The only place they goofed up was that, they made the food a bit too spicy, even after my having specified to make it mildly spicy.

When I complained about it, They gracefully replaced the spicy vegetables and got us mildly spicy ones.
Full marks for that..
Over all a good family dining place..

Good

Garma Garam Yummm!!

Monsoon is at its best right now and all I could think of last evening was garam garam dalwada's.

I just had to satiate my craving, so the next best thing I knew that I did was rush to New Gujarat Dalwada.

I bought 1 kg Dalwada's for 120 rs. I got it packed n rushed back home.

As soon as I reached home I relished the best and yummiest Dalwada's in town, with the pitter patter drops falling on my window pane. Soon there were nothing left, well i din have the 1 full kg. My entire family shared it.

In Ahmedabad Gujarat Dalwada is one of the most trusted names and a big hit amongst Farsan lovers.

Good

Bun Maska & Chai

This place does not burn a hole a in your pocket. The service is very very quick and efficient. The tea and bun maska served it too good

I like the bun maska precisely because of the generous and liberal application of Amul butter on it.

Its absolute value for money.

Good

100% Vegetarian Gelato

At e-scoops they claim to have 95% fat free gelato's. Made with no gelatin only Soya. Good for vegetarians like me.

The place is nicely done with small tables and cozy chairs.

Not to mention the gelato's are very tasty, whenever I go there I end up having at least 2 or 3 flavors one after the other.
My favorites are chocotale, ferrero rocher, musk melon and peach.

Although i have not tried them, but e scoops also serves snacks sundaes, softies and thick shakes.
